Southern Pack Rules You break a rule and you become the puppies' new chew toy. :3 They have sharp teeth.
Rules are subject to change. Please check this page regularly. Last Content Change: 5-20-12, 10:17 EST General Rules:- The alphas' word is law and should always be respected.
- If a beta wolf gives an order, follow it...unless it contradicts an alpha's order.
- Respect and protect the members of your pack at all costs. We're all in this survival thing together.
- As a general rule, elders are to be treasured. They've put in years of service over everyone else and deserve special treatment. Naturally, this differs a bit with wolves who joined the pack as older adults.
- The feeding order is as follows: The alphas, the betas, elders, regular members, and then the omega. Any newcomers to the pack eat after the regular members, and pups and pregnant she-wolves eat before the alphas.
- Do not take more than your share. If an alpha thinks you have eaten too much of the kill, they reserve the right to stop you from having more. This goes for water during heavy droughts, as well.
- Pups must be protected and cared for at all costs. It is absolutely forbidden to harm one in any way, including neglect.
Omegas:- In this pack, the omega is the lowest-ranked wolf. Usually, the rank is a punishment or a place to put a wolf who can't or won't contribute to the safety of the pack.
- Omegas eat last.
- Omegas are not allowed to accompany on hunts.
- Omegas may or may not be allowed to have a mate. They are forbidden to have pups unless stated otherwise by the alpha pair.
- Omegas occupy dens apart from the rest of the pack.
- Acts of betrayal may lead to demotion to Omega, if lucky. Expulsion or execution is more common in these cases.
- Wolves with illness, mental or physical may be demoted to Omega if it in any way whatsoever threatens the pack.
- A wolf may be placed in the Omega rank if he/she fails to comply with Alpha's rules.
Wolves Requesting Admittance:- Not all outcasts who request membership amongst the pack will be accepted.
- Wolves with any sort of disability may or may not be accepted according to the disability.
- Pregnant she-wolves or she-wolves with young pups may or may not be accepted according to health.
- A season of trial period must pass before complete admittance into the pack. During this time, the trial wolf ranks at the bottom of the dominance. If after a season the wolf has proved to be a positive addition to the pack, complete admittance follows and the wolf will become an accepted pack member.
Alpha Pair Offspring:- The eldest born to the Alpha and Alphess is first in line to inherit the responsibilities of the pack. However, if the child is not fit to rule or cannot hold the position, it may pass to any younger siblings.
- If the Alpha pair decides that none of their pups are worthy to hold the throne they may pass it over to their Beta pair.
Breeding Season:- All members must request permission to breed.
- Wolves must be two years old before choosing a permanent mate.
- Parent wolves hold the right to create arranged pairings for their pups.
- Omega wolves and wolves over 10 years of age may not breed unless stated otherwise by the alpha pair. They may still ask. But the chances are very, very, very slim.
- One litter a year per pair please. If food is scarce no pups may be produced.
- Pups with disabilities will be monitored for one week. If the pup's disability will make it hard for it to learn or survive it will be put to rest.
- Mothers who consistently birth pups with disabilities will not be allowed to mate any longer.
- Pups born without consent will be tested. If they are healthy and they are lucky they may be allowed to live. Possibly with their parents or possibly with the alphas.

Southern Pack Information Everything you need to know about the pack.
Last Content Change: 5-20-12, 11:22 EST Pack-Benefiting Skills (and the wolves that possess them): This is a tentative list. Let me know if you think other skills deserve mention.- Healing - Ayria
- Awareness - Ayria
- X-Ray Vision
The Dens: With apologies to bratteratt on the old site, who played the first Southern alpha. It just seems logical that the pack would use the same dens. ^.^;- Alpha Den: The alpha pair reside in a den dug into the side of a small uprising/hill. It is not exceptionally large, but it does have a connecting chamber for the alphas' pups.
- Beta Den: Dug into the same uprising/hill as the alpha den, only located around the side instead of at the front. It also contains a second chamber for pups, future or present.
- Pack Member Dens: Situated in a circle about the Alpha and Beta dens are the pack member dens. These are created out of hollowed logs, fallen trees, etc. They are crafted by the wolves (generally a single wolf or mated pair) occupying them, so each is a little different. These dens are created using the supplies of the forest; branches, larger limbs, pine needles, etc. If you are a member and would like your den described on here, send Ree a PM with the description.
- Omega Dens: The omega wolves sleep down closer to Biscuit Basin, in damp, dank caves that have been hollowed out by past rushing water. The dens are small and there are only a few in number, so it could get crowded if there are too many omega wolves.
Pack History: This is a tentative history that assumed certain wolves in the old board exist or existed in this board. Therefore, it is subject to change. Before Brock and Ayria, a wolf named Mors lead the pack. His rules were perhaps a bit harsher than the current pair's, but he kept is pack alive and healthy and is missed by many even today. He was killed in a hunt when a mother moose fought the wolves to rescue her cub, and his death led to a fight between Kairos - the late alpha's brother - and Syrus, a young newcomer who was eager to prove his worth. The two battled and Kairos won. Syrus ran off, never to be seen again. It was the perfect moment for Kairos. He had always wanted to be alpha, and now the position was his, and he even had a mate to take on the role of alphess. Except Corra - his love - didn't want to be an alpha. She was prepared to leave him because of the rank. Kairos couldn't bear to let her go, so he stepped down, leaving Brock to step up and become the next pack alpha. Not long after that, he took Ayria as his mate and she became an alpha alongside him, while Kairos and Corra became the beta couple. Everyone was happy...except for one she-wolf. Moonrunner was another wolf that had coveted a high rank. She was not happy that young, inexperienced Ayria was the alphess while she - a much more cunning and intelligent wolf in her own opinion - remained among the bulk of the pack as a regular member. She argued with Brock, saying that his mate didn't necessarily have to hold his rank. She failed to sway him, and ran off soon after to form her own pack in the north. Time went by and Ayria became pregnant with her and Brock's pups. It was a bright spot after a dark time for the pack, and hopes were high even as the harsh winter threatened survival at every turn. Many pack members - including the beta pair - disappeared during the frigid season, dead or dispersed due to the forces of nature and lack of prey. Now it is spring. Ayria managed to carry her litter to term and they all survived the birth, though in various stages of health. Her sons were particularly weak at birth, and she struggles to make sure they - all her pups - remain as healthy as possible and survive to adulthood. As for the rest of the pack, it remains to be seen what fate has in store... Pack News:
